EXHIBITION OF WORK BY STUDENTS OF
BARBARA PRICE
On Monday and
Thursday mornings in Fishguard e-Learning centre I take art classes for
adults. The Monday class started in 1995 and Thursday class a couple of
years later. Many of the students in the classes are total beginners and
others have painted before. I like to encourage use of different media and
each student is encouraged to learn at their own pace. I often give a
small painting demonstrations using various media i.e. Oil, acrylic,
pastel, watercolour etc to encourage everyone to have a go!
I have really
enjoyed taking these classes and do consider the members my friends as
over the years I have got to know some of them quite well now.
This year I
wanted to have an exhibition of the students work and decided to put the
work on my own website for everyone to see how creative they are!
Each student has
entered one picture each and I think you will see how vibrant and
individual he or she is.
I have just
worked out that over the last 10 years my classes potentially could have
created 5000 pictures which is totally amazing. I think they should now
have the chance to show them on the Internet for their friends to see at
any time without the expense of framing them.
Art is such a
fantastic way of relaxing and ‘switching off’ and I try to get everyone to
enjoy the process of ‘being creative’.
